7 Fun Facts about The Giant
#1. The book was originally written by Omuugn as a poem in hopes that children would memorize it and repeat it back to themselves when they want to feel accepted.
#2. The poem was put to music by Omuugn in 1984. ♬
#3. Omuugn sang the story/song to his 19 children when he would put them to bed at night while accompanying himself on the guitar. 🎸
#4. The song became a fast favorite of all his children (even the ones that were older than 14.)
#5. Omuugn’s children sing the song/story of “The Giant” to their children to help them feel proud of who they are.
#6. The Illustrator Jenipher Brown is one of Omuugn’s many daughters.
#7. 40 years after the story song The Giant was written, it was turned into a children’s book with the help of Life Long Publishing.
